The purpose of this study was to identify safe and accessible routes to urban-area elementary and middle schools in the City of Superior, WI so that more students are able to safely walk or bike to school.
The schools that were examined for this Safe Routes to School (SRTS) plan study included Superior Middle School, Cathedral School, and Bryant, Cooper, Great Lakes and Northern Lights Elementary schools.
A diverse steering committee led this planning effort with membership representing the Superior School Board and School District; City Councilors, Planning, Engineering and Police departments; the Douglas County Board; interested parents, and others.
