2020 Work Program and Budget

The Unified Transportation Planning Work Program and Budget (UPWP) spells out the MIC’s transportation planning activities as well as administrative activities, budgets and funding sources for each project for the current (or upcoming) calendar year.

The MIC’s 2020-2021 UPWP, adopted on September 18, 2019, provides $864,300 for planning activities in 2020 and an estimated budget of $783,800 in 2021.

On February 19, 2020 the Policy Board approved an administrative amendment to the MIC’s 2020-2021 UPWP (Transit Planning section, p. 14) to include a project description for a new transit study for the City of Superior, as follows:

  • Comprehensive Operations Analysis– The DTA/City of Superior is undertaking a comprehensive transit operational analysis and service design recommendations study utilizing FTA 5304 and 5307 funding.

The MIC’s work activities as described in the UPWP are supported by funding from the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Transit Administration, the Minnesota and Wisconsin Departments of Transportation, the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission and the Northwest Regional Planning Commission.
